Kyowa Kirin Completed Construction of a New Office Building at Ube Plant To improve workplace communication for a better team unity and ensure stable supply of high-quality pharmaceuticals

Tokyo, Japan, March 28, 2023 --Kyowa Kirin Co., Ltd. (TSE: 4151, President and CEO: Masashi Miyamoto, “Kyowa Kirin”) announces that it completed the construction of a new office building (named “SF Building” after the skip floor) at Ube Plant (Ube city, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Plant Manager: Hirokazu Kisaka) and the completion ceremony was held today. SF Building is intended to accommodate the growing number of employees and to improve the working environment.

Ube Plant is an automated plant specialized in oral solid dosage formulations utilizing a variety of engineering technologies. SF Building includes an office area, conference rooms, visitor’s areas, and a cafeteria. The building features skip floors and an atrium that foster a sense of unity in the office space, promoting smooth communication among employees and departments. The building also incorporated an environment‐friendly design with energy-saving systems including solar panels and natural ventilation systems. On March 27th, it became the third facility in Yamaguchi Prefecture to receive ZEB*1 certification.
